This is a piece from her first solo exhibit at Roots Up Gallery presenting a body of works by this special self-taught artist from Georgia. During the course of a year Danette created 29 pieces that are new, refreshing and highly textural depicting mythical, natural, interpersonal, and domestic scenes in a symbolic manner. Her pieces are produced through a process that combines shallow, sculpted surface detail and richly layered striations of paint. Each individual piece also features its own unique frame fashioned by the artist from reclaimed wood.
