What Shadow is to Sunlight
What Shadow is to Sunlight
A perfect Channel whelk from the Sea Islands and found objects from the Lowcountry mounted on pigmented beeswax. This work is about reveling in the opposite of sunny days - the slower passage of time when it rains, the darker days of winter, a historic city when tourists have gone, the deserted beach before a storm. Size: 14 x 10 x 3 in.

Each viewer is invited into imaginary worlds through vignettes that are inspiring, mysterious, playful... and sometimes haunting. Her assemblage work explores the roles between science, nature, magic, and myth through mixed-media works that incorporate storytelling and found objects. Robin’s art incorporates traditional techniques with the innocence of the outsider genre.”
