"My Mom raised German short hairs and it was always fun to watch them in the fields. they moved so graceful and fast jumping stone was like it was nothing. From that memory I've created this folk art version of Bird Dog with Bob Whites."

This is a piece from her first solo exhibit presenting a body of works by this special self-taught artist from Georgia. During the course of a year Danette created 29 pieces that are new, refreshing and highly textural depicting mythical, natural, interpersonal, and domestic scenes in a symbolic manner. Her pieces are produced through a process that combines shallow, sculpted surface detail and richly layered striations of paint. Each individual piece also features its own unique frame fashioned by the artist from reclaimed wood.
