Join us for an evening with artist Danette Sperry for her first solo exhibition in Savannah. Her work is new, refreshing and highly textural. Danette's larger scale 2-D reliefs depict mythical, natural, interpersonal and domestic scenes in a symbolic manner.
Using a process she has developed combines shallow, sculpted surface detail and richly layered striations of paint, Ms. Sperry produces a unique relief effect—thoroughly contemporary rather than classical. Each work also features its own one-of-a-kind frame, hand-built by the artist.
Her new artwork will be available at Roots Up Gallery through July 18th as well as online at rootsupgallery.com.
